  • Job Description

    As Vice-President of Technologies, you’ll report directly to the COO as well oversee BonLook’s information technology infrastructure, supporting both its maintenance and evolution. In this role, you will manage a team of approximately 15 employees. Additionally, your role will be to support the execution of different IT solutions involving other departments, ranging from design to infrastructure implementation. You’ll be the go-to expert on all things technology, acting as a guidance to your team of leaders and developers. You’ll be tasked with ensuring that all of the company’s other departments, such as operations, marketing, finance, customer service, and logistics have all that they need to support the company in its ambitious growth objectives and initiatives.

     

    Although no two days at BonLook are ever alike, here’s a look at some of the tasks you’ll fulfill when you join our team:

     

    • With a cup of coffee in hand, you’ll start your day leading the company’s technology vision and implementation. Your role in daily meetings will be to plan, organize, structure and oversee all activities as they pertain to BonLook’s technological infrastructure (web, POS, ERP);
    • You’ll be in charge of implementing information security for the company, ensuring that all measures are in place. You’ll make decisions based on design and implementation of IT projects with regards to software and technical solutions;
    • You will act as a technological expert and strategic advisor to executive management and the board of directors;
    • You will make suggestions and decisions about expenses needed for the IT department in order to help your team excel as well as help other departments realize their overall objectives;
    • You’ll have an overview of the different computer systems and software in place, optimizing the interactions between them and keeping these different tools up to date.
    • You’ll have your finger on the pulse of the latest trends in information technology and what the best practices in the field of IT are;
    • You’ll be on the constant lookout for new opportunities to improve the processes and optimize the quality and costs of the IT services offered;
    • Act as a supervisor to staff while mobilizing their efforts, helping to ensure the development of skills within your team;
    • You’ll liase with human resources, manage your department’s budget, and furnish relationships with all internal and external stakeholders;
    • You will set benchmarks for all the teams working with you;
    • You’ll work to ensure a smooth day-to-day and follow-up on the actions discussed on team’s scrum meetings;

Our selected candidate will ensure that all the appropriate solutions are implemented. The chosen individual must have at least 10 years of experience working as an IT department manager and is able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Here’s how to wow us:

     

    • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field’
    • A minimum of 10 or more years of IT work experience, especially in a managerial position;
    • A demonstrated team player;
    • Perfectly bilingual in English and French
    • Experience in managing cloud infrastructure, particularly with regards to AWS;
    • An in-depth knowledge of several programming languages, especially Python, SQL, PHP, C#;
    • Must have solid project management experience;
    • Exceptional leadership qualities
    • Exceptionally skilled with regards to schedule management, organizational skills, and committed to following-up tasks ensuring their full completion;
    • An ability to present information clearly and facilitate communication between the different departments in the company;
    • An ability to juggle several tasks simultaneously, and an ability to thrive under pressure;
    • An ability to prioritize projects to ensure continual improvement and total transparency;
    • Ensure that all deadlines are met and that a superior quality of work is delivered;
    • A proven ability to solve complex problems, taking any budgetary, account-based, or human error roadblocks;
